Possible Salmonella Contamination in Hong Kong

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced January 30 that the United States is experiencing an outbreak of illnesses caused by Salmonella Typhimurium associated with peanut products originating at a Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) manufacturing plant in the state of Georgia. To date, it appears that the majority of consumer products made with potentially contaminated materials from this plant have been distributed in the United States.

However, as the FDA continues to trace-forward the secondary and tertiary distribution of consumer products made by other companies with potentially contaminated materials from PCA, various products made with such materials have been recalled. The FDA has come to learn that the following potentially contaminated product has been shipped to Hong Kong:

Brand Name: Health Valley
Product Description: Organic Peanut Crunch Chewy Granola Bars
Recalling Firm: Lovin Oven LLC
Size: 6.1 oz box

The Hong Kong Government has been notified accordingly.
