No Appointments Necessary
Visa applicants fit into one of the special categories noted below do not need to make appointment.
Macau residents: Applicants may present themselves at the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong on any working day (Monday through Friday except U.S. and local holidays) for a walk-in visa application from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The following documents are required for the visa interview: passport, confirmation page of the completed online application form (DS-160), photo, fee receipt from Dah Sing Bank, and any other supporting documents applicants may wish to bring.
Applicants from Macau will need to bring evidence of Macau residency such as a Macau or Portuguese passport, Macau identity card, or other proof of Macau residency. Applicants will also need to travel with their Macau ID card so that they can return to Macau without their passport.

Certain individuals may be able to drop off their completed NIV application at the U.S. Consulate General Monday through Friday, 2-3 p.m. without making an appointment and without appearing in person for a visa interview:
- Hong Kong and Macau nationals or residents age 80 or over who have not been refused a visa before. For more information, click here.
