Assistance for U.S. Taxpayers in Hong Kong

A representative of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service will be in Hong Kong later this month to consult with U.S. taxpayers desiring assistance with their 1997 tax returns.

Consultations will take place from March 19 through April 2 in the Consular Section of the first floor of the U.S. Consulate General, 26 Garden Road, Central. Consultations will be on a first-come, first-served basis, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In addition, the IRS representative will conduct a seminar on U.S. federal tax in the visa waiting room on the ground floor of the American Consulate General. The seminar is open to all interested persons and will take place on Wednesday, March 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Most of the standard 1997 IRS tax forms for overseas taxpayers are now available in the American Citizens Services Office of the U.S. Consulate General. Tax forms can be requested by calling the office at 2841-2211.
