Thomas Moga, Legal Specialist in Copyrights, Patents & Trademarks, to Discuss Recent Developments in U.S. Intellectual Property Law and How IPR Development in China Influence U.S. Business Choices on May 12 at American Consulate General
Thomas Moga, Partner of Harness, Dickey & Pierce (Troy, Michigan), will meet with journalists to discuss "Recent Developments in U.S. Intellectual Property Law" and "How the Concerns of U.S. Businesses Over Protecting Intellectual Property in China Influence Business Choices". The meeting is scheduled at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 12, 1998 at the American Consulate General, 26 Garden Road, Hong Kong.
Mr Moga has had extensive consultancy and teaching experience in the mainland and Taiwan on IPR protection. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Jilin University, China in 1997 teaching intellectual property and international trade law. He was also the Resident Foreign Advisor at the Patent Office of China in May and June of the same year. After graduating from law school in 1983, he served at Taipei?s Saint Island Patent & Trademark Office and Huang & Associates for ten months and went back in 1997 to teach as a Visiting Professor of Law at Tamsui-Oxford University as part of a Joint MBA Program with Madonna University.
Mr Moga has recently published a book titled Patent Practice and Policy in the Pacific Rim. He regularly contributes journal articles on IPR developments in various Asian countries and has presented conference papers widely in the U.S. and Asia.
Mr Moga earned his B.A. degrees in Political Science and English Language & Literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1978. He went on to receive his M.A. degree in English Language & Literature from the same university in 1980. In 1983, he took his doctorate of Law at St Louis University School of Law.
