USS Kitty Hawk Sailors Visit Nesbitt Centre (5/2/2008)
On Friday, May 2, six sailors from the aircraft carrier, USS Kitty Hawk, visited the Nesbitt Centre, a local organization that provides an English-speaking educational program for adults with learning disabilities. The navy volunteers spent four hours at the centre's facility in Pamela Youde hospital, cooking hot dogs, burgers, BBQ chickens with the children and singing Karaoke with them. Such community service projects are a common feature of U.S. Navy port calls. USS Kitty Hawk battle group was visiting Hong Kong April 28 - May 3.
