Fulbright Hong Kong Scholar Program Announces 2008 Annual Award Winners

The Fulbright Hong Kong Scholar Program announced that eight doctoral candidates and three scholars from Hong Kong universities won annual awards, which will allow them to conduct research in the United States in 2008 – 2009.

The winners of the Junior Scholar Awards are:

  • Ms. BA Qing, a PhD candidate in Financial Economics, Hong Kong University
  • Ms. CHEN Lijuan, a PhD candidate in Translation Studies, Lingnan University
  • Ms. DING Chunyan, a PhD candidate in Law, Hong Kong University
  • Mr. LI Mo, a PhD candidate in Computer Science, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • Mr. LU Zhouguang, a PhD candidate in Physics and Material Science, City University of Hong Kong
  • Ms. PENG Yinni, a PhD candidate in Sociology, Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • Mr. XU Jianhua, a PhD candidate in Criminology, Hong Kong University
  • Ms. ZHONG Zhijin, a PhD candidate in Communication Studies, City University of Hong Kong
 

Winners of the Senior Scholar Awards are:

  • Dr. Lennon Hung-tat CHOY, Assistant Professor, Department of Building and Real Estate, HK Polytechnic University
  • Dr Jay QIAN Jun, Assistant Professor, Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics, City University of Hong Kong
  • Dr. Kelvin WONG Siu-kei, Assistant Professor, Department of Real Estate and Construction, Hong Kong University

The Fulbright program is supported by grants from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR, Citi, Wing On (International) Holdings, Computime, Northwest Airlines, the American Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation, and the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong. Administered by the Hong Kong America Center , this annual awards program honors Mr. Frank Martin, former President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
