STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Meeting with Chief Executive Tung of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

President Bush will meet with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Chee-Hwa (C.H.) Tung at the White House on July 11. The meeting will afford both leaders an opportunity to discuss the importance of maintaining the high level of autonomy enjoyed by Hong Kong. They will also discuss their shared views on the importance of extending Normal Trade Relations with China.
